I was visiting in Rock Springs just for the weekend and Friday afternoon my car, a 1999 Ford Expedition, began making a horrible loud sound as I was returning to my grandchildren’s home from the store. I was panicked because I’m an old grandmother and I was traveling alone. I needed to return to Salt Lake City on Sunday night and I didn’t know what to do. I found Rock Springs Auto Repair on the internet and decided to give them a try. I called at 3:30 pm on Friday and a very pleasant woman told me to come right over and they would take a look at it. Chris, the service advisor, knew immediately what the problem was and told me they could fix it and have it back to me in the morning. At 5:20 p.m. that same day, I got a phone call from Chris saying that they had finished the repair and even though they closed at 5:30 p.m., they would wait for me to come and pick up my car. He showed me exactly what they had done and even showed me the tool that they needed to use to fix it. The charge ended up being less than he had originally told me. Thank you for being so honest and helpful.

I am a local of Rock Springs, Wy. My car broke down over Thanksgiving and had to be towed. I live close to RS Auto and had no previous experience. I will only state facts. My hourly labor rate was $140 an hour. Because the owner could not make any profit on the part. I bought the part at a local parts house. Usual labor is $110 an hour. He wanted to sell me a part for $150 more than cost. Not his cost, but my cost. His cost is cheaper. I would say if you are stuck that this is a go to place. If you are not, then shop around. Also expect to pay 6% more for shop towels , hand cleaner, etc. This is added to final bill. The work was done well with no problems.

My family were traveling from CO to Jackson Hole when the timing belt went out on my Lexus a few miles from Rock Springs. I looked for the closest mechanic and found RS. They were awesome!! Stopping what they were doing to get us on our way the next day ASAP and at a very reasonable price. Leaving the motel in RS, husband discovered a leak from our Ford Freestar. RS Auto was two doors over and Mr. Robertson checked to discover a leak in the gasket between the water pump and motor. The mechanic replaced the gasket and discovered the oil filter was defective and leaking after being changed last week. He replaced it and refilled with oil at no charge. After all was finished we saw on his card that Mr. Robertson is a Christian. We thank God for leading us to such a fair and qualified business.
