I purchased a Pontiac 400 (WZ) engine from AutoBohn Engines of Lowell,\r\nMichigan. \r\n\r\nWhen the engine arrived (I live in New York) I installed it in\r\nMy 67 Firebird and had the car towed to a local shop to have them prime\r\nAnd start the engine for the first time.\r\n\r\nBefore starting the engine the shop while pressurizing the cylinders discovered that coolant was bubbling out of the radiator (the heads were leaking). \r\n\r\nThat’s when the repair bills started adding up. The heads had to be removed!\r\n\r\nDuring the process of removing the heads the mechanic at the shop called me to say that he noticed I had shimmed the pulleys because they were not lining up.\r\n He was curious so he removed the fuel pump and looked inside the timing chain cover (flashlight) And discovered that the timing chain was incorrectly installed and had one row completely off the timing gear. Now of course it was necessary\r\nTo remove the Timing case cover.\r\n\r\nDuring this time I spoke with Autobohn Engines and was told to callback when the repairs were completed to discuss compensation.\r\n\r\nUnfortunately after repeated calls over several weeks the only thing I can reach at AutoBohn Engines is the answering machine and all my messages have gone\r\nUnanswered.
