I’m not sure what the previous person experienced but Joe is a great guy! As a shop owner, he sometimes have to tell the customer what he/she may not want to hear. He works hard to keep cost low for his customers. His employees, Trish, Mike, Tony and Anthony all work really hard as well. They know who you are and treat you like family. It’s certainly the place where everybody knows your name. I’ve been getting my car serviced at German Motor Works for the past 3 years’ and only paid too much once. The reason for that mishap was that I decided to bring my car elsewhere because of convenience. Needless to say, I’ve never done that again. I plan to get my car serviced with Joe as long as I continue to own this car. If you want fair and affordable pricing, knowledgeable and caring mechanics, and honest estimates, always remember German Motor Works in Richardson, TX for your German made car.

Repair: Sadly, after years of exposure to this company I must say that Joe, the owner is a pathological liar. After one oil change the air conditioning stopped working. After paying to have it fixed, they tell me there are major water leaks and oil leaks. After a second oil change the air conditioning magically stopped working again and Joe claimed it was because the car was overheating and the air system was shut down. I was shocked. The car wasn’t even in the warm zone. I called them on it and they reconnected the air conditioning and it worked fine. Did I need the air conditioning fixed in the first place? Probably not. I have yet to add water to the overflow tank in months. The car doesn’t have a water leak. Yet, they told me the radiator, water pump, etc.. had to be replaced asap. My daughter bought a car from them which they obtained on a mechanics lean. The said it ran great, that one of their mechanics had been the only repairman on it for years and new it thoroughly and he swore it had no problems. We paid $600 shortly after purchase it for work on the water pump and hoses. Within 1 week we had to pay Firestone $1,500 for front end work including a broken weld bracket that made the car dangerous to drive! Over $2,000 after purchase expenses within 1 month of buy the car they claimed ran great and had no problems! Watch out for these guys, they’re very dishonest but Joe puts up a very convincing false front.
