If you are looking for a good car mechanic that is fair and reasonable, I’d highly recommend Steens Master Lube in Newport. \r\n\r\nGot stuck in Newport with a dead battery. Went to a couple different shops (leaving the car running) and was told it would be 3 days to get the correct battery in from Portland, or it could be over-nighted for an extra fee. Frustrated, I started calling the auto parts stores and low a behold found the right battery on the shelf at NAPA for a good price. Contemplating the best way to get this new battery in: tools needed, the car security system going haywire, etc. I ended up at Steens Master Lube. Russ, the owner, was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about my specific car’s needs.
